Certain license applications and other export authorization requests must be notified to the Congress: 1) Any agreement that involves the overseas manufacture of Significant Military Equipment; 2) A license for the export of firearms in the amount of $1 million or more; 3) In the case of proposed exports of Major Defense Equipment, any request with a value equal to or greater than $14 million ($25 million in the case of NATO member states, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand); 4) In the case of any other proposed export of defense articles, defense services, and/or technical data, any request with a value equal to or greater than $50 million ($100 million in the case of NATO member states, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand). Please keep in mind that this requirement typically adds six to nine weeks to the process for license application review and adjudication.
